Lynnwood is my home.   As a single parent, I raised my son here until he left for the Marines.  Today, I enjoy Lynnwood by spending time with my beautiful granddaughter and caring for my 82 year old mother.

I worked as a Code Compliance Officer for Lynnwood for almost 7 years, leaving to take office in 2002. Today, along with the council, I work for the Department of Social & Health Services.

I have served as the council liaison to the Planning Commission, the Historic Commission, the Arts Commission, the Public Facilities District (Convention Center), and the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Board. I have also served on various boards as the city liaison including the Snocom 911 Dispatch Center and Snohomish County Tomorrow. Currently, I serve as council Vice President and the liaison to the Parks Board, as well as the alternate liaison to the Public Facilities District (PFD).

I have a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Bellevue University in Nebraska and my Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from Central Washington University.  I am a Certified Municipal Leader through the Association of Washington Cities and author of three novels.

It is through my family, education, professional and volunteer work, I am driven to be an advocate for social equity. I know how hard it is for families to get involved in the process but  as a council member I represent all those who live in Lynnwood. As a council member, my top priority is to ensure that every voice is heard in the decisions city council makes.
